1.     In order to receive money from the Members' Relief Fund. you must be a member in good standing for at least one (1) year prior to strike. Only exceptions; new hires and transfers. Working Retirees not eligible. At least 8 hours strike duty per week as assigned by picket captain is required.

2. International benefits would also be available to those who qualify.

3.     Payments from the MRF will start the second week of a strike. Payout will be for a maximum of 5 weeks or termination of the strike, whichever occurs first. For any week or portion of a week of a strike, a check will be mailed the following Friday.

(A) In the event of actual loss of income due to a bargaining strategy or a strike less than two (2) weeks, payments from the MRF may be made by Executive Board action.

4.     The maximum amount of assistance per member per week to be determined by the following formula. On the first day of the strike 90% of the total worth of the Members' Relief Fund divided by 5. then divided by the Total Membership of the Local.

5.     All checks to be Express Mail overnight to AVPs. Checks to be distributed on Monday at picket duty. Any member not receiving their check must contact their AVP or the Local Office.

6.      10% of the fund will be used by Executive Board action. To protect the Local and the Members' Relief Fund, the maximum amount of money that can be distributed from the Members' Relief Fund will be 90% of its total worth on the first day of the strike.

7.     A person crossing a picket line, or working for the Company during a strike is no longer "a member in good standing". (See item #1)

8.     In the event a member leaves the Company or transfers out of the Local; or, in the event of death, the actual contribution of that person to the Members' Relief Fund will be refunded, less any payouts, no interest included.

(A) Members transferring to Local 2204 will have their funds transferred to Local 2204. (This provision will appiy only if Local 2204 passes similar language in their MRF guidelines.)

9.     In the event a member terminates membership with Local 2203, that member forfeits all rights to the Members' Relief Fund. If the person rejoins the Union, their contributions accumulate from the date of reinstatement for the purpose of refund calculation as per Item #8. There will be no bridging of contribution time.

10. After each new contract signing these guidelines will be reviewed in the first quarter of Ihe fiscal year by a Members' Relief Fund Committee.

(A) Pay out all contributions in excess of $1000.00 per member after the new contract is settled.

(B) Working retired members will be refunded all contributions to the MRF in January of each year.

(C) Members' Relief Fund is funded by contributions from each member of $3.00 per week.
